Orange Date Nut Bread

2-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
2/3 cup sugar
2-1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 tbs grated orange peel
3/4 cup freshly squeezed Florida orange juice
1/2 cup milk
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1 egg
1/2 cup chopped nuts
1/2 cup chopped dates

In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt and orange peel. Combine orange juice, milk, oil and egg. Stir into flour mixture just until combined. Stir in nuts and dates. Turn into a greased 9 x 5 inch loaf pan. Bake in a preheated 350F oven for 45-50 minutes, or until a cake tester inserted in center of loaf comes out clean. Cool in pan 10 minutes. Remove from pan and cool completely on wire rack.

Yield: 1 loaf.
