Peanut Butter Pie 4

1 Graham cracker crust
1/2 cup peanut butter, crunch or creamy
2/3 cup powdered sugar
One 3.4-ounce package instant vanilla pudding mix
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1-1/2 cups milk
One 8-ounce container of Cool Whip
1/4 cup crushed peanuts (optional)

Beat peanut butter and powdered sugar together until crumbly and not too sticky. Spread into bottom of crust, reserving 1/4 cup for topping. Beat together pudding mix, vanilla, and milk until thickened, about 3 minutes. Pour over peanut butter layer in crust. Spread top of pie with Cool Whip, and sprinkle with reserved peanut butter mixture and crushed peanuts. Chill several hours before serving.
