Southern Pecan Tasties

Pastry:
1 stick margarine (1/4 lb)
One 3-ounce package cream cheese
1 cup plain flour, unsifted
One 12-hole small muffin tins

Filling:
1 tbsp. soft margarine
1 egg slightly beaten
3/4 cup light brown sugar
1 cup chopped pecans
1 tsp. vanilla
1 level tsp. corn starch
1 pinch of salt
1 tsp. Karo Syrup

Let margarine and cream cheese soften, add flour and mix well. Divide in two and form 12 small balls with each large ball, using fingers. Spread dough on sides and bottom of tins leaving small edge.

Mix filling ingredients thoroughly and fill cups by teaspoonfuls. Do not overfill. Bake in preheated oven at 350F for 20 minutes. Let cool five minutes before removing from cups. Serve with a dab of whipped cream of plain.

Use for teas, receptions or dessert.

Serves about 10 people
