Field Pea Jambalaya
- 2 cans field peas
- 1-1/2 cups raw rice
- 2 slices salt meat
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp pepper
- 1-1/2 cups water
- 1 can Dawn Fresh Steak Sauce with Mushrooms
- 1/8 lb margarine
- 1/2 bell pepper
- 1/2 onion
- 1 stalk celery
Cut salt meat in chunks & boil till tender. Saute onion, bell pepper & celery in margarine. Add field pea & drained salt meat & cook for 10 minutes. Add steak sauce, rice & water. Reduce fire to low - cover & cook 15 or 20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until rice is cooked.
