Grilled Garlic Steak

1/3 cup boiling water
1 pouch Campbell's Onion Soup and Recipe Mix
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup salad oil
2 tbsp. vinegar
1-1/2 lb. beef top round steak, cut 3/4 inch thick
4 med. cloves garlic, minced

To make marinade: In large shallow dish, stir boiling water into soup mix. Stir in sugar, oil and vinegar; set aside. With sharp knife, score steak on both sides. Rub both sides with garlic. Place steak in soup mixture, turning once the coat well. Cover and refrigerate at least 4 hours or overnight, turning steak occasionally. Remove steak from marinade, reserving marinade. Place steak on grill above glowing coals. Grill 15 minutes or until desired doneness, basting steak with marinade and turning occasionally.

Makes 6 servings.

Broiler Variation:
