Barbecue Chicken 2

1 chicken and a few pieces of side meats
1/8 lb butter or margarine
3 tbs of sugar
2 shredded cloves of garlic
1/3 onion - chopped fine
2 tbs honey
One 10 oz can beer
1 regular bottle barbecue sauce

After lighting the barbecue pit, take the meat that has been seasoned the night before and place it onto the pit. While the meat is cooking, prepare the following sauce:

Melt the butter in a small pot, add sugar and let simmer on a low heat for about three minutes. Add garlic and cover for about 90 seconds. Brown onions and add to butter mixture. Stir for about 2 minutes and add 1 -10 oz can of beer and let simmer for about six minutes and add barbecue sauce, honey and simmer until meat is cooked on the pit.

Coat both sides of meat and leave on the pit for about another 10 minutes. Just before taking the meat off, place another coat of sauce and place it into a pot with a cover to keep in the flavor while the rest of the dinner cooks.
