Hot Tamales 3

2 lb lean ground meat
1 lb pork ground meat
1-1/2 large onions (put in blender)
2 tsp garlic powder
4 tsp salt
1 tsp cumin
1 can tomato sauce
3/4 cup water
3/4 cup cornmeal
One 2-1/5 oz pkg. chili powder (save small amount for sauce)
3 tsp red cayenne pepper

Mix above well. Make mixture of cornmeal, salt, and pepper in plate. Take a heaping tablespoon of meat mixture and roll in cornmeal mixture. Place on wet tamale paper and roll.

Place tamales in a large roaster and make sauce to cover with 1 can beef broth, 1 can tomato sauce, chili powder and water. Cover, place in 350F oven for 1-1/2 hours.
