Glazed Green Beans

Two 16-ounce cans vertical-pack green beans
3/8 cup butter or margarine
6-8 slices bacon
1/2 cup dark brown sugar
Garlic powder to taste
Salt and pepper to taste

Drain the beans and place in a 9 x 13 inch pan. Cut bacon into 1-inch pieces and add to beans. Make a glaze from the butter, brown sugar, garlic powder, salt and pepper. Pour over beans. Bake at 375F for 45 minutes covered with foil for the first 35 minutes. Uncover for the last 10 minutes.

Serves 6.
