Glazed Yam and Ham Medley

Two 17 oz cans Bruce's Whole yams, drained
2 cups dark corn syrup
Lemon juice
Dash of pepper
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1/3 cup butter or margarine
1/2 tsp seasoned salt
1 cooked bone-in half ham, about 5 lb
4 tart red apples
1/2 Cup walnut halves

Place yams in a shallow baking dish. Blend corn syrup, 1 tablespoon lemon juice, pepper and nutmeg; reserve 1/2 cup mixture for basting ham and pour remainder over yams. Dot yams with butter and sprinkle with seasoned salt; set aside. Place ham in shallow roasting pan bake in 325F oven 1-3/4 hours. Prepare apples shortly before needed. Cut cored un-pared apples into 1/4 inch thick slices. Remove ham from oven and brush generously with reserved 1/2 cup corn syrup mixture. Bake ham and yam dish about 25 minutes longer, basting both occasionally.
