Picante Chicken Nuggets

2 whole chicken breasts, split, boned and skinned
1 cup picante sauce
1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
1/4 cup dry bread crumbs
1 tsp oregano leaves, crushed
2 tbsp butter or margarine, melted

Pound chicken to 1/2 inch thickness; cut in 1-1/2 inch pieces. Place 1/2 cup of the picante sauce in shallow dish or pie plate. Combine cheese, bread crumbs and oregano in another shallow dish or pie plate. Dip chicken into picante sauce; coat well with cheese mixture. Place on cookie sheet. Drizzle with butter. Bake at 400F for 9 minutes; turn and continue to bake 9 minutes or until chicken is browned and cooked through. Heat remaining picante sauce and serve as a dip for chicken.

Makes about 2 dozen.

At this point, chicken may be covered and refrigerated up to 2 hours before baking.
