Yeast Bran Muffins

1 cup bran buds
1/4 cup raw sugar
1 tsp salt
1/2 cup soft butter
2 pkg yeast
1/2 cup warm water
1 egg
3-1/2 cups bread flour
1/2 cup warm milk

Combine bran, sugar, salt, butter. Dissolve yeast in water, allow to stand for 5 minutes. Add to first ingredients. Stir in egg, gradually add 2 cups flour, milk, stir in the rest of flour. Kneed 8-10 minutes. Let rise until double. Shape into muffin tins, let rise until doubled. Bake at 375F for 10-15 minutes.
