Brunch Casserole

1 lb ground pork sausage
2 cups shredded Mozzarella cheese
3/4 cup milk
1/8 tsp black pepper
One 8 oz can crescent dinner rolls
4 eggs beaten
1/4 tsp salt

Crumble sausage in a medium skillet and cook over medium heat until brown, stirring occasionally. Drain well. Line bottom of a buttered 13x9x2 inch baking dish with crescent rolls, firmly pressing perforations to seal. Sprinkle with the sausage and cheese. Combine with remaining ingredients, beat well, and pour over sausage and cheese. Bake at 425F for 15 minutes or until set. Let stand 5 minutes. Cut into squares and serve.
