Strawberry Shortcake 2

2 cups Flour
2 tbs Sugar
1 tbs Baking Powder
1/2 tsp Salt
1/2 cup Butter
1 Beaten Egg
2/3 cup Cream
4 cups Halved Strawberry
1 cup Whipped Cream

*** Combine flour, sugar, baking powder and salt in a bowl. Cut in butter till mixture crumbles. Combine beaten egg and light cream. Add to flour mixture and mix well. Pour batter into a greased and floured 8 inch cake pan. Bake in a 450F oven for 15 minutes. Cool and remove from pan. Slit shortcake into 2 layers. Spoon half of the fresh, halved strawberries on the bottom layer. Cover with second layer, followed by the remaining strawberries. Top with whipped cream. Keep refrigerated till serving.
