Upside Down Cake

12 Slices Canned Pineapple
1/4 cup Butter
3/4 cup Brown Sugar
12 Cherries
1 cup Sifted Flour
3/4 cup Brown Sugar
1-1/2 tsp Baking Powder
1/2 tsp Salt
1/4 cup Melted Butter
1/2 cup Milk
1 Egg

*** Drain pineapple slices, reserving 2 tbs of canned syrup. In saucepan, melt butter with brown sugar till it is dissolved. Remove from heat. Pour sugar mixture into a 9x13 baking pan. Arrange pineapple slices in pan and place a cherry in the center of each pineapple. Prepare cake batter in another bowl. Sift flour with sugar, salt and baking powder. Add melted butter and milk. Beat two minutes till smooth. Add egg and reserved pineapple syrup. Beat 1-2 minutes. Pour cake batter over pineapples. Bake 40-45 minutes in a 350F oven. Cool slightly, invert pan and turn cake upside down on serving plate.
