Yellow Cake 1

1/2 lb Butter
1 tsp Vanilla Extract
2 cups Sugar
4 Eggs
3 cups Sifted Cake Flour
1 tbs Baking Powder
12 tsp Salt
3/4 cup Milk

*** Cream butter and vanilla; gradually add sugar and beat until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition. Add sifted dry ingredients alternately with milk to butter mixture. Beat only until blended. Do not over mix. Pour batter into 3 greased and floured 8 inch layer cake pans. Bake at 375F for 25-30 minutes. Cool. This is like the 1-2-3 cake.
