Yesterday's Cake

4 cups leftover cake, diced
2 egg yolks
1-1/2 cups sugar
1 cup all-purpose Hour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1-1/2 cups milk
2 tablespoons butter, melted
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
Meringue:
2 egg whites
2 cups brown sugar
Peach Sauce
14 ounces canned peaches
Cottage cheese to taste

Preheat oven to 350F. Place leftover cake cubes in a buttered baking dish, and set aside. In a bowl, combine egg yolks and sugar. Beat 3 minutes. Add flour and baking powder, and pour milk and butter into mixture. Stir well, and add vanilla extract. Pour batter over cake cubes and bake 30 minutes. Heat the broiler. In a bowl, beat egg whites and brown sugar until stiff peaks form, and spread the meringue on the cake. Broil until meringue turns golden. Serve with peach sauce.

Peach Sauce:
Drain peaches and keep syrup. In blender, puree peaches. Add cottage cheese and reserved syrup and blend until smooth. Serve at room temperature.
