1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup brown sugar, lightly packed
1/2 teaspoon almond extract
1 egg yolk
1/2 cup rolled oats
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup chocolate chips
1/4 cup toasted almonds, finely chopped
1/4 cup crushed nuts

Preheat oven to 350F. Butter an 8 inch square cake pan. Cream butter, and stir in brown sugar, almond extract and egg yolk. Add flour and rolled oats. Spread batter evenly in pan and bake 25 minutes. In top of double-boiler, melt chocolate chips and pour over cake. Sprinkle with chopped nuts and toasted, chopped almonds. Cool until chocolate hardens. Let it cool before slicing.
