Fig Cake 1

2 cups dark brown sugar 1
1/2 cups oil
3 eggs
3 cups sifted flour
1-1/2 teaspoon soda
2 tablespoons water
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
3 cups fig preserves
2 Cups chopped pecans
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon butter extract

Preheat oven to 325F. Cream sugar, oil, and eggs. Combine flour, salt, and spices. Mix soda with water and add to mixture, then blend in rest of ingredients. Pour into a bundt pan that has been heavily floured and buttered. Bake at 325For 1 hour and 15 minutes. Let stand in pan for 15 minutes and then turn out on plate. Serve with whipped cream.
