Spiced Rice Baked Apples

4 medium golden apples, cored
1 cup cooked rice
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup water
1 tablespoon butter
1/2 cup chopped pecans
3/4 cup chopped apple (reserved from coring apples)
3/4 teaspoon cinnamon
Dash nutmeg
Syrup recipe:
1 cup sugar
2 cups water
4 tablespoons butter
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
Dash nutmeg

Preheat oven to 350F. Wash, core and peel apples only halfway on top. Cook in microwave for 2 minutes on high. Let stand for 5 minutes after microwaving, Mix water, sugar, butter, cinnamon, nutmeg, cooked rice, pecans, chopped apple (apple saved from cored apples) and raisins in sauce pan for 7 minutes. Fill apple cavities with apple rice mixture. Arrange apples on a greased baking dish (8 x 8 inch baking pan), and bake for 35 minutes at 350F.

Syrup:
Mix ingredients for syrup: sugar, water, butter, cinnamon, nutmeg. Boil for 15 minutes, until mixture is a syrup consistency.

Arrange baked apples on a serving dish, drizzle syrup over apples. Garnish accordingly with cherries and kiwi fruit. Serve warm.
