Maple Pecan Bread

1-1/4 cups flour
1 cup whole wheat flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 egg cup butter, melted cup maple syrup
3/4 cup buttermilk
2 cups pecans, chopped

Preheat oven to 350F. Butter and flour 9 x 5 inch pan. Mix flour, baking powder and salt in mixing bowl. In another bowl, whisk soda, egg, butter, syrup and buttermilk until blended. Mix all ingredients together and fold in pecans. Bake for 45 minutes; cool in pan 5 minutes. Then turn out on rack. Let cool completely. Slice 1 inch thick. Serve with cream cheese flavored with grated orange peel and pecans.
