Raspberry Bars

2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup margarine
1/2 cup walnuts, finely chopped
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla
10 ounces raspberry jam

Preheat oven to 350F. Combine flour and sugar. Cut in margarine with two knives until you have a crumbly mixture. Add nuts, eggs and vanilla. Press half of mix (2 cups) into bottoms of two 8 x 8 x 2 inch baking pans. Bake 20 minutes. Remove from oven and spread each with 1/2 cup jam. Return to oven and bake 15 minutes longer. Let cool on wire rack. Cut into 2 x 1 inch rectangles.

Serves 4.
