Country Syrup Cakes

2 cups flour
1 cup cane syrup
1 cup dark brown sugar
2 eggs
1/2 cup cooking oil
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon soda
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 cup water, hot

Preheat oven to 300F. Mix well all ingredients except boiling water. Add boiling water after other ingredients are mixed. Spray dish and cook at 300F for 1 hour. Cool before serving.

Serves 8-9.
