Orange Bow Knots

1/2 cup warm water
2 packages dry yeast
3/4 cup milk, scalded and cooled
1/3 cup sugar
1-1/2 teaspoon salt
2 eggs
1/2 cup shortening
2 tablespoons orange rind, grated
1/4 cup orange juice
5 cups flour
Icing:
2 cups powdered sugar
1 to 2 tablespoons orange juice
1 teaspoon orange rind, grated

Preheat oven to 350F. Soak yeast in warm water. Add milk, sugar and salt. Then beat in eggs, shortening, orange rind and juice and 1 cup flour. Add remaining flour, or more, until dough leaves side of bowl and is no longer sticky. Knead gently until dough is somewhat smooth. Place in lightly greased bowl and let rise for about 2 hours. Divide dough into 3 parts and roll each one out to 6 x 2 inch. Spread with melted butter and cut 3/4 inch wide strips 6 inch long. Tie each strip in a knot. Place on greased baking sheet. Let rise 1 hour. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes. Spread with icing while warm to form glaze.
