Almond Brownies

4 square of unsweetened chocolate
2/3 cup of shortening
2 cups of sugar
4 eggs
1-1/4 cups of flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
1 cup of chopped nuts
1 cup of chopped almond paste

Set oven to 350F. Grease baking pan. Heat chocolate and shortening in sauce pan over low heat until melted. Stir in remaining ingredients. Spread in pan. Bake until brownies begin to pull away from pan. Cool for 1/2 hour.
