Banana Cream Pie 2

3/4 cups sugar
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup sifted flour
2 tbs cornstarch
1-1/2 cups water
2 egg yolks
1 tsp butter
2 tbs water
3 ripe bananas - sliced thin

Combine and mix together sugar, salt, flour, cornstarch. Stir in 1/2 cup cold water. Heat remaining water and add to mixture. Cook slowly over low heat until thickened and clear. Gradually add beaten egg yolks, stirring constantly. Cook 1 minute. Remove from heat, cool slightly. Stir in butter and 5 tablespoons water. Layer mixture and bananas in 9 inch pie shall. Chill in refrigerator for 3 or 4 hours. Top with whipped cream.
