Buttermilk Pound Cake 2

1 cup shortening
2 cups sugar
4 eggs
1/4 tsp soda
1 cup buttermilk
3 cups flour
1/4 tsp salt
2 tbs vanilla extract
2 tbs lemon extract
1 tsp almond extract
Lemon glaze (or your favorite)

Preheat oven to 350F. Combine shortening and sugar until creamy. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each egg. Dissolve soda in buttermilk. Combine flour and salt, add to creamed mixture mixing well. Add flavorings; pour batter in a greased and floured 10-inch tube pan. Bake at 350F for 45 minutes to 1 hour. Test by inserting toothpick in center. If it comes out clean, cake is baked.

Lemon Glaze:
1 cup powdered sugar
1/4 cup butter or margarine
1/4 cup lemon juice

Combine all ingredients in small bowl until smooth, drizzle over cooled cake.
