Cream butter, gradually add sugar, cream until light fluffy. Sift flour with baking powder and salt. Add eggs one at a time to creamed mixture, beating well after each addition. Add flour mixture alternately with milk, & vanilla, beating after each addition. Pour batter into three 9-inch pans, lined on bottom with paper. Bake 350F for 25 to 30 minutes.
Cook to a hard rolling boil, about 5 minutes, add coconut. Cook again for 5 minutes. (1 fresh coconut grated, add 1 tsp coconut flavoring)
