Japanese Fruit Cake

1 cup butter
2 cups sugar
4 egg
3 cup cake flour
3 tsp baking powder
1 cup milk
1 tsp vanilla

Cream together butter and sugar until smooth, then add eggs one at a time, beat well. Sift together - 3 times - flour, baking powder; then add cup milk and vanilla.

Pour 2/3 of the batter into 2 greased pans and bake at 350F until done (30 minutes); set aside to cool.

Add to 1/3 of batter:
1 tbs cocoa
1 cup raisins
1 cup pecans (chopped)
1 tsp nutmeg
1 tsp cinnamon. (*this will be the center layer)

Bring to boil in saucepan: (this will be filling and icing)
1 large can crushed pineapple
2 cups sugar
1 cup water
1 coconut grated or 2 cups coconut
3 tbs flour or cornstarch
