Party Cake

1 white or yellow cake mix
1/3 oz pkg. gelatin, any flavor
1-1/4 cups sugar
1/4 cup water
1/8 tsp cream of tartar
2 egg whites

Mix dry cake mix with 3 tablespoons dry gelatin. Follow cake directions on box, bake, cook.

Combine remaining gelatin, sugar, water, cream of tartar, and egg whites in top of double boiler. Over medium beat, whip with mixer until frosting stands in peaks. Spread on cooled cake.
