Sea Island Bars

1/2 cup butter or margarine
1/2 cup sugar
1/3 cup firmly packed brown sugar
2 tbs water
1 cup sifted Self-Rising Four
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 cup chopped nuts
1/2 cup shredded coconut
One 6 oz pkg semisweet chocolate pieces

Preheat oven to 350F. Grease 9-inch square baking pan; set aside. Melt butter in 2-quart saucepan over very low heat. Remove from heat. Add sugars and water; blend well. Stir in flour. Add egg and vanilla; blend thoroughly. Add nuts, coconut, and chocolate; blend well. Pour into prepared pan. Bake 30 minutes. Cool in pan. Cut into bars.

Makes 16 bars.
