Syrup Cake 1

1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup margarine
2 cups sugar cane syrup
2 eggs, beaten
2 cups all purpose flour
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp soda
1/2 cup buttermilk
2 tsp vanilla

Mix sugar, margarine and syrup together. Add eggs and mix well. Add flour, salt and soda alternating with the buttermilk. Add vanilla, mix well. Bake in a greased and floured pan or tube pan at 350F for 45 minutes to one hour. You may add a cup of chopped pecans to cake.
