Fish Soup

1 fresh medium sized fish
2 oz. margarine or drippings
1 pint stock or water
1 onion or bunch herbs
1 oz. flour
1 pint milk

Scale and wash the fish and cut into pieces. Bring to a boil in stock or water, add milk and the onion stock with a clove. Add the margarine, sprinkle in the flour and cook for 30 minutes. Pour the soup through a sieve, return to pan and season to taste with salt and pepper and grated nutmeg. Serve with croutons.
