Sugar Spiced Roast

One 5-6-pound pork roast
7 cloves garlic, fresh
1 tablespoon onion powder
1 tablespoon red pepper
1 tablespoon black pepper
3/4 cup cooking oil
1/2 cup sugar

Preheat oven to 375 F. Peel fresh garlic cloves and slice.

With a sharp knife, make small, deep incisions into the pork.

Insert the garlic on all sides of the meat. Rub the onion powder and pepper onto the outside of roast.

In a roasting pan, combine oil and sugar.

Bake at 375 F for 2-1/2 hours, turning roast until all sides are browned. Serve with rice or potatoes.
