Company Beef Oriental

1-1/2 lb ground beef
1 med onion, sliced
1 clove garlic, minced
1/4 cup soy sauce
2 tbs cornstarch
1 tbs molasses
1 tsp instant beef bouillon
3/4 cup water
One 6 oz pkg frozen Chinese pea pods
One 5 oz can water chestnuts, drained and sliced
One 5 oz can bamboo shoots, drained
One 11 oz can mandarin orange segments, drained (reserve syrup)

Cook and stir meat onion and garlic in large skillet until meat is brown. Drain off fat. Mix soy sauce, cornstarch and molasses. Stir into meat mixture. Stir in bouillon, water, pea pods, water chestnuts, bamboo shoots and reserved mandarin orange syrup. Heat to boiling. Reduce heat. Cover and simmer ten minutes, stirring occasionally. Stir in orange segments. Cover and heat about two minutes.
