Crisp Coated Fried Chicken

3 lb frying chicken cut in serving pieces
1 cup milk
1 cup flour
1-1/2 tsp salt
1/8 tsp black or red pepper

Dip chicken in milk and drain. Combine flour, salt and pepper in paper bag. Place one piece of chicken at a time in bag and shake to coat evenly with flour. Fry chicken in hot oil, about 1-1/2 inches deep until brown and crisp on both sides -- 10 to 12 minutes. Drain on paper towel.
