Hush Puppies

1 cup yellow cornmeal

1/2 cup self-rising flour

1 tbs sugar

1 egg

1 med onion, finely chopped

1 cup milk

Vegetable oil

Stir all ingredients, except oil, together. Drop by tablespoons into hot vegetable oil, about 370F until golden brown on all sides. Drain on paper towels.
