Country Lima Beans

1 can (16 oz.) lima beans
1/2 cup chopped onion
1/2 cup chopped red or green pepper
1/2 cup thinly sliced celery
1 sm. clove garlic, minced
1/4 tsp. thyme
1/8 tsp. pepper
1 tbsp. butter or margarine
1/2 tsp. sugar

Drain lima beans reserving 1/4 cup liquid; set aside. Saute onion, red pepper, celery, garlic, thyme and pepper in butter. Stir in lima beans, reserved liquid and sugar; heat through.

Makes 4 servings

Microwave directions:
Drain lima beans reserving 1/4 cup liquid. In microwavable casserole, combine onion, red pepper, celery, garlic, thyme, pepper, butter and sugar; cook on high 3 to 4 minutes. Add beans and reserved liquid. Cook 2 minutes or until heated through.
