Peppery Turnip Fries

8 medium (2-1/2 lbs.) turnips
1 teaspoon freshly ground nutmeg
1-1/2 teaspoons freshly ground pepper
1/4 cup Parmesan OR grated fresh coconut
Olive oil spray
2 tablespoons lime juice (optional)

Preheat/bake Oven: 425F. Spray large cookie sheet with olive oil. Pare turnips; slice 2-1/2 x 1/2 inch. Combine spices and cheese, Seal-shake to coat. (Shake in a paper or plastic bag.) Spread and spray with oil. Bake 30-35 minutes or until turnips are tender and golden, turning once.

Serve hot with or without a sprinkle of lime juice.

Serve as you would French fried or oven-fried potatoes!
