Super Scalloped Cabbage

3 quarts cabbage
1/4 cup flour
1/8 lb margarine or butter
1-1/2 cups American cheese
1-1/2 cups milk
Salt and pepper, to taste
1/4 cup pimentos
2 cups bread crumbs

Preheat/bake Oven: 350F.

In large 4 quart boiler pan, boil3 1/2 quarts salted water. After water boils put in very coarsely chopped cabbage and boil only 5 minutes. Drain cabbage well and lace in flat casserole dish. Sprinkle 1/4 cup chopped pimento over cabbage. Make a cheese sauce with butter, flour, milk and American cheese. Pour sauce over cabbage, cover with soft bread crumbs. Bake.

Serve hot.
