Frijoles a la Charra

1 pound dried pinto beans
10 cups water
1 pound bacon, cut into small strips
1 medium bell pepper, chopped
1 small onion, chopped
1 bunch cilantro, chopped (fresh preferred)
4-5 garlic cloves, minced
2 medium tomatoes, chopped
1 can Rotel tomatoes (mild or hot), diced
1/4 cup Pace picante sauce (mild, medium or hot)
Salt to taste

Wash beans (not necessary to soak). Add beans and water to large pot and cook on medium heat about 30 minutes stirring occasionally. Add remaining ingredients. Cook about two hours on medium heat, stirring occasionally and adding water if necessary. Should be consistency of soup. Serve alone or as an appetizer. This dish freezes well,
