Fresh Snap Beans with Freshly-Dug Irish Potatoes

2 quarts snap beans (freshly picked or blanched, then frozen)
4 slices bacon (fried)
2 large onions, sliced
1 large bell pepper, chopped
4 large cloves garlic, chopped
10 small freshly dug Irish potatoes (scrubbed) with skins
1 tsp basil
Salt, red pepper and black pepper to taste

Fry bacon, reserve bacon drippings. Drain bacon on paper towel. Into 3-quart sauce pan, put reserved bacon drippings, onions, bell peppers and garlic. Saute until golden brown. Stir in snap beans, potatoes and basil for 1 minute. Add fried bacon pieces and simmer covered for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
