Smothered Okra and Corn

1 med onion, chopped
1 bell pepper, chopped
6 cups fresh okra slices
1 dozen of fresh corn, cut
1/2 cup cooking oil

Smother onion, bell pepper and okra together until slime is removed. Cook corn until tender. Mix okra and corn together. Stir regularly. You may add salt meat, fresh shrimp or sausage. Simmer for about 20 minutes. Serve over hot rice.
